In the 3rd round, with the 80th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected safety J.J. Wilcox. With this pick, Wilcox made history by being the highest selected Georgia Southern Eagle in the history of the program.
Congratulations to J.J. on making his dreams come true by being selected in the NFL Draft and getting his chance to do something great at the highest level of football. He’ll add some class and be a great addition to the locker room right away. On the field, he’ll instantly give them special teams help and could easily develop quickly into that special teams demon. I would say he will also definitely be challenging early for a starting spot, if not already be a projected starter out of the gate. This is a definite need by the Cowboys and they certainly addressed it with adding this guy. They get a great all around player that can help them immediately.
So congratulations J.J., go do great things in the NFL and GATA!
